This year marks nine years of dedication, hard work and constant shows by Lehighton, Pennsylvania’s hard rock outfit Another Day Dawns. Playing covers to start, the addition of singer Dakota Sean moved them toward original inspiration with material coming fast gaining attention and a following around the area.
Over time they earned opening spots with Avatar, Sammy Hagar, Godsmack, 5 Finger Death Punch and several other high profile acts also earning a coveted West Coast gig at the Viper Room.
In 2017, They signed to M7 Booking Agency spawning nonstop writing and playing weekly area gigs in their favorite haunts ever since. Persistence built their loyal fan base with strong, dedicated crowds with thousands on social media.
Vocalist Dakota Sean, guitarist Tyler Ritter, bassist Livi Dillon, and drummer Nick McGeehan are the modern day road warriors carrying the torch.
Their sound is a swirling combination of stoner rock, pop and high energy grunge, playing with a combined atmosphere of Skillet, Seether, Sixx A.M. and Linkin Park.
The new video “Psycho” looks and sounds like the most vicious excerpts from the diary of a madman, painting a creatively psychotic picture. She’s a real charmer, including possession, torture and violence in a carnivalistic relationship about attraction to the wrong kind of woman, eventually walking away pulling the plug.
“Rage” is energetic and melodic with grungy, grimy and catchy energy. “Psycho” is a moody and malicious foot stomper of what people with blood stained intent are capable of like an ex’s horror movie like character with malice coming to life. It’s emotional survival, whether from angst or fighting for survival.
“Empty” is slower and melodic while we get a taste of punk and “Purple Rain” on “All of Me” with some retrospective introspection and reminiscence. If you could cohesively mix a ‘80s rock or metal road song/ballad and a grungy emotional song about feelings “All of Me” would be it.
There’s plenty of strong, young energy in the music and performances. The songs reflect a young band teetering on a decade, playing with in the making veteran blood. With Sean’s fluid-like vocals, the bands addictive melodies and adrenalized mix of style and structure, A Different Life is a short but memorable collection of songs and intros to jam to.
