Nader Sadek – The Serapeum EP

Nader Sadek is known for cranking out seriously, loud brutal music, fueled by the ancient history and mystery’s yet to be discovered under his home soil. Carrying the lyrical weight of the gods can only result in one kind of sound. His newest offering The Serapeum is the blistering product of collaborations with members of Nile, Serpents Rise, Perversion, and a guest list of extreme elite.

The new EP contains four tracks, three versions of The Serapeum and a short vocal recording with Sadek’s fury blazed with flame thrower power over all tracks.

Nile’s Karl Sanders, Derek Roddy from Serpents Rise and Perversion’s Mahumud Gecekusu visited Egypt in 2017 to add to the EP’s massive sound and caliber.

Though it’s the shortest track, Sadek added some archaeological icing doing a claustrophobic above and beyond, recording vocals inside a Sarcophagus in the Red Pyramid of Sneferu on “ReSarcophogus” proving there’s few things more metal than recording death metal vocals inside a burial chamber.

Version one “The Serapeum: Black Osiris,” carries the ancient breath of the Pharaohs into modern cryptic air with crushing death and black metal brutality with time eroding chaos as Sanders solos with members of Putrid Pile and Gorod with Gecekusu playing rhythm.

Sanders’ is on rhythm for version two, “Polluted Waters,” among extreme company.  Egypt’s Nancy Mounir adds the unique sound of the Theremin with members of Augury and Gecekusu adding to the chaos.

The final track makes the EP an exclusive collector’s item with the first and only live version of “The Serapeum.”

The EP draws inspiration from the mysteries of the burial spot and its modern status as a tomb for bulls. With twenty-four eighty-ton sarcophagi buried below its many stories have yet to be unearthed. Sadek lyrically also tackles Egypt’s ancient grandeur in greater and lesser comparison to modern day conditions.

He’s created a nice piece of death metal papyrus in musica, and a brutal further education into the Land of the Pharaohs.
