John Taglieri Brings Southern Paradise

John Taglieri Brings Southern Paradise

John Taglieri has released 11 albums on his own terms, a DIY lifer so to speak.  Taglieri released his eleventh effort Southern Paradise mid last year. The six-song EP showcased brand new songs that are upbeat sing-a-longs reflecting his life at the moment. Spending a lot of time in Key West as well as traveling, Taglieri is at a point in life and career where he’s found a great balance. This release shows that balance with songs that celebrate his place in life. Working with the production team of Sean Mormelo and Marc Cohn out of Nashville and mastered by multi-Grammy winner Richard Dodd, they’ve crafted a release that will have your toes tapping right from the first note.

Southern Paradise takes a bit of country influence, a bit of southern rock pride, plays it Skynyrd style adding classical elements of piano, bar room rock, blues and some 80’s ballad lighter’s flickering in the air. Variety is the spice of life in a southern paradise.

A lil’ taste of paradise: When I Think About is all about those lovely vacation memories, good and bad, the marguerites to the head and summers on the beach. A country’ish tune about memories, that aren’t depressing (an original idea indeed). Down the Road plays the love sick blues to the tune of a heart attack. It’s You, could easily be the Every Rose Has It’s Thorn track with its acoustic slow, soft ballad romp as I’m losing my mind, sanity and head for you.

With his 1999 debut solo album Leap of Faith he started making a name for himself in the worldwide independent melodic rock scene. Stepping outside import shops/artist websites, reaching out to Tower Records, Borders Books, Sam Goody Records and began getting noticed for doing things his way and making it work. After Leap of Faith’s success, European label, A2 Records, signed him to a worldwide licensing deal, re-releasing it to a much larger audience and ultimately winning the “1999 Artist of the Year” award on Kweevaks Tracks website. A full tour followed over the East Coast and west to Las Vegas.

In 2003 John released the all-acoustic half live/half studio album Half & Half showing range venturing into singer/songwriter territory and began touring with and opening for acts Rik Emmett, Sister Hazel, Edwin McCain and Butch Walker. He won the UIMA’s Pop/Rock Artist of the Year award making huge progress in building a full time career as a touring musician.

In 2005, his third solo album, NOW was released and was able to quit his day job deciding it was time to make a living doing what he truly loved to do (a dream of any artist), diving head first into a full time career and toured the country. Performing over 230 dates a year since, he’s been a nonstop promotion/touring machine, building a strong fan base opening for an increasing list of big names earning him ‘in-demand’ status.

In 2007, he joined forces with his keyboard player, Tom Darby and producer Drew Yowell creating Wide Awake & Dreaming. The 12 song CD was a sonic delight, garnering great reviews. Taglieri put a band together and hit the road. In 2008, he continued his productivity with Everything We Are. Written with his guitarist, Brad Whitley crafting a six-song party of upbeat rock infectious from the opening notes. Taglieri signed a deal with FYE performing an in-store show for the company, consequently selling out the EP’s first run in rapid fire fashion.

In 2009, he developed a series of EPs, books and graphic novels entitled LIVES which was accompanied with online promotion and marketing and would follow the lives of the books two main characters on the EPs, novels and all available social media. LIVES Volume I & II were released six months apart with great reaction.

In 2010, Taglieri formed a new band called TAG releasing FOREWARD in October with full tour support. In April 2012 he released his ninth effort, aptly titled Lucky #9, and lucky it was landing at #2 on Amazon.com’s Hot New Releases chart peaking at #18 on all of Amazon.com, while the single Make Me Believe made it all the way to #1 on the Hot New Releases chart. The release proved that Taglieri was still a hot commodity.
In October 2012, Taglieri released his tenth CD, The Very Best of John Taglieri…The Songs That Should Have Made Me Rich!!!. The twenty-song collection highlighted the very best songs from Taglieri’s career to date. With two songs from each of his first nine releases and two brand new tracks, Taglieri showed off what has kept his career alive and growing all these years. The songs showed the wide range of his songwriting skills, growth and evolution.

So what is success?? Well, if eleven releases in 14 years, a career as a full-time musician, touring the world, meeting and playing with your idols and singing for crowds of up to 80,000 can be considered successful, then Taglieri has found it. www.headfirstentertainment.com
