For Today Become Immortal

For Today Become Immortal

Prominent Christian metal core band For Today returned in 2012 with a pulverizing new album that leaves the band screaming loud and fans screaming for more. Immortal is the band’s fourth full length album and their first on the Razor & Tie label. For Today has been running nonstop so far this year headlining the Fight the Silence tour and will be playing the Vans Warped Tour summer trek sharing the Monster Energy Stage with Chelsea grin, Every Time I Die, Vampires Everywhere and thirteen others. They’ve also graced the March cover of Substream magazine, Immortal’s first single Fearless is currently in the top five on the iTunes Rock Chart. And the video can be viewed on Youtube.

Singer Mattie Montgomery turns loose his vocal cords and larynx into shredded confetti for 11 tunes that make the rafters shake and buildings crumble or at least large clock towers. The disc features a healthy dose of elite guest appearances from Jake Luhrs of August Burns Red on Set Apart, P.O.D’s Sonny Sandoval on The Only Name and Sleeping Giants Tommy Green on Under God.

Lyrics are strong often standing, screaming and definitely yelling at/in the face of evil proclaiming an already guaranteed foreseen victory against the dark forces on earth and those that will be unleashed when the end comes, all in the name of God and His many names. After seven tracks of angry loud guitar triumph the short The Call and The King take an unexpected slower tone with a small wash of classical muse back-grounding sound clips of spouting preachers. None of us will live forever but while we’re all here we can at least enjoy the noise maker gifts The Almighty has bestowed upon us whether it be a single church organ or the ear ringing blast conjured by these guys. Immortal is definitely worth the dime if you like your metal core stomping the ground and banging your head variety.
