Demon Hunter returns this summer with a worthy follow up to its debut with Summer of Darkness. The band punches us in the face again with songs filled with heavy screaming and a good dose of loud healthy anger. Besides having one of the coolest names on the Solid State roster, Demon Hunter has a good bit of talent as well, making heavy music to suit any metal fan. Whether you’re into Ill Nino, Fear Factory, Arch Enemy or The Agony Scene, DH can play right alongside or face to face. They have the street cred to play any stage whether Cornerstone or Ozzfest.
Summer of Darkness is slam packed with circle mosh pit classics. Slow ballad metal is kept to a minimum though they make it work as fluently as on their debut. With a name like Demon Hunter you have a responsibility to make music that is both scary and predatory and they do both with masterful cunning.
As the summer heat comes, hot darkness will fall and the hunt begins. www.demonhunter.net
