Solid States new artists of hardcore madness bring us a truly heavy mesmerizing masterpiece in The Agony Scene. Ten songs that are as brutal as they are poetic. Sung with screeching, acid tipped vocals worthy of Arch Enemy and the truly wicked Cradle of Filth. The band brings their personal Christian beliefs into a dark macabre arena that few Christian bands dare to tread. The disk will turn off folks looking for the lighter happy side of God’s word and the artwork showcasing the bands silhouettes at dusk and the creepy old person’s hand and blood shot eyes give the disk a very dark but inspiring feel. The songs including Eyes Sewn Shut and We Bury Our Dead at Dawn give the listener an idea of what’s about to invade their eardrums. They may be good ole Christian boys at heart but they certainly aren’t going for the choir boy image. While the music itself isn’t completely catering to the Christian audience the hardcore fans looking for some good sing a-long’s to slam to will enjoy this collection of positive brutality. Sometime around midnight breakout the candles, curl up in bed, listen to the cold icy wind howl outside, flip the good book open to Golgotha or Revelations and let the screaming guitars sing you a lullaby.
